Pittsburgh boom-bap is back. Collaborative powerhouses C.Scott and Moemaw Naedon have officially dropped their latest single and video, “Phase 2.”
Serving as the title track and lead single for C.Scott’s upcoming full-length album (arriving April 7th via Soul Slime Records), “Phase 2” is a heavy hitter keeping it true school boombap. Moemaw Naedon drops skillful rhyme schemes over C.Scott’s signature rugged production.
Following their success with 2023’s Yinztroducing… (featured on NPR and The Wire), the duo proudly carries the torch of sample-based hip-hop. Whether you’re a longtime fan of their River Rats era or a newcomer to the Soul Slime sound, “Phase 2” is a head banger that sets the stage more underground projects.
