Representing Sudbury, Ontario Mickey O’Brien, a celebrated Canadian emcee, marks the 15th anniversary of his pro-union anthem “One Day Longer” release with a free download. Streaming via Hand’Solo Records on March 19th, O’Brien’s single tells the story of his experience as a third-generation miner and union steward.

Inspired by the year-long strike and legendary labor dispute between United Steelworkers Local 6500 and the Brazilian mining giant Vale in 2009, O’Brien’s song “One Day Longer” gained global recognition within the labor movement.

Serving as a reminder of solidarity, the track continues to echo on picket lines worldwide, bigging up O’Brien’s impact as both an artist and an advocate for workers’ rights.
