“Be yourself,” says producer Sneadr from The Netherlands. He’s worked as an underground hip-hop producer for Dutch rappers and crews such as Het VerZet’s.. Ellmatic, Dookie, Astro and more. We caught up with him to learn more about his passion for music production. He talks about taking his skills to the next level and shares how hip hop taught him that believing in yourself.. hard work and persistence pays off..

How long have you been producing?

I have been producing for 10-12 years now.

Favorite drum kit(s)? Studio Gear? Sampler?

I always loved the MPC samplers from Akai. I started with the small mpc500 and bought the MPC2000xl a couple of years later. These days I use the mpc2000xl in combination with Ableton push 2.

Any challenges you have over came being a hip hop producer in the Netherlands?

I make the music that I want to make. And not that other people want me to make. The most important challenge I’m focused on is getting better at my craft.

What underground hip hop music blogs, podcasts or channels you peep on a regular?

The first one that comes to mind is Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. because they interview a lot of legends that I grew up on.

Any new music projects we should know about? Shows, tours?

First I got a new project with my brother Dookie called “Panic4none” coming out soon. And working on an instrumental album vinyl release with Italian producer Chiefrock for the beginning of 2020. Also working on 2 or 3 other projects right now also for 2020…

Who are some of your favorite dope underground hip hop producers?

Check out Chiefrock from Italy and Ntan from Het Verzet. Also producers like Alchemist, Damu The Fudgemunk, Daringer and the rest of the greats are a big inspiration for me.

Best life advice you ever got from hip-hop music?

Be yourself. Listen to yourself. And maybe the biggest things are hard work, persistence and believing in yourself.

Hidden talents?

I used to be a very good bboy (breakdancer) for almost 10 years when I was a kid. This gave me a lot of rhythm, music knowledge for producing and connections.

Last words or shout outs?

Big shout out to all the supporters, friends and family!!!
