If you’re into grimy drums, dark cinematic loops, wrestling samples, and basement boombap, then Iron Mike Sharp’s latest release Foot On Your Neck deserves a listen. Released through AL East Recordings out of Saint Paul, Minnesota, this 13-track instrumental project is packed with rugged head-nodders built for heads, and anyone who still appreciates soulful beats with grit and character.

From the opening title track to cuts like “Return of MechaMike,” “Ruff Riffs,” “Grime,” and “Predatory,” Iron Mike Sharp delivers a soundtrack that feels like late-night city streets, dusty VHS tapes, and underground cyphers.

The tape blends movie samples, classic wrestling references, Terminator and Godzilla snippets, DJ scratches, and hard-hitting drums into a dope listening experience. Much of the project hits with rugged boom bap, tracks like “Prevailing” and “Go Deeper” bring a laid-back jazzy, meditative vibe.

Album artwork for Iron Mike Sharp's "Foot On Your Neck" beat tape, featuring a dark, cinematic comic-book style illustration of a menacing cybernetic monster standing in a rain-slicked, ruined city street.

With over 100 beat tapes and more than 1,000 beats available through the AL East Recordings catalog, Iron Mike Sharp continues to build a consistent body of work.
