The underground is alive and well. MRKBH and Rico James delivered a visual for their track, “Lingchi,” and it’s every bit as sharp and unforgiving as the title suggests.
Taken from their upcoming project, “Righteous Gemstones Part 3” the track explores themes of discipline, legacy, and the “death by a thousand cuts” that comes with navigating the industry and the streets. Rico James provides a haunting, atmospheric backdrop that allows MRKBH to dissect the competition with strategic precision.
MRKBH’s pen is sharp as always, and Rico James‘ production sets the perfect dark atmosphere for this. Underground hip-hop at its finest.
The Art of Lingchi: A Thousand Cuts..Historically, Lingchi (or “slow slicing”) was a form of torture and execution used in China from roughly 900 CE until it was abolished in 1905. Often translated as death by a thousand cuts, it was reserved for the most heinous crimes, such as treason or matricide.
