Boston’s Busy Bars Interview

Q. MRCPROMO: Peace what city you from?
A. BUSY: I was born in Boston, raised just outside.

Q. MRCPRMO: When did you get your start in hip-hop music?
A. BUSY: I got started as a kid having fun not knowing I was doing anything, but I started to record about 1998.

Q. MRCPROMO: Who or what inspires you to create music?
A. BUSY: Ideas and beats inspire me. Sometimes I have an idea that’s been waiting for the right beat. Sometimes the beat tells me what to write. Things I see daily, whether in the media or in real life that effect many.

Q. MRCPROMO: How do you feel about commercial radio?
A. BUSY I’m told it has its place. I understand if you want to party you’re going to put on some party music and so on. But you cant do the same shit all the time all day. The majority if not all of it is poison. Talented poison. Its not anything to be proud of. Its all negative and does nothing for me.

A lot of the beats are banging but get wasted on mind numbing nonsense, and I do like a good trap beat but trap was played out to me a few years ago since everyone ran with it and aint let go yet. Obviously even more now. Commercial radio lowers the vibration. I’m trying to raise it.

Q. MRCPROMO: What other music you listen too besides Hip Hop?
A. BUSY Oh man. Everything mostly but country. The last few years I’ve been listening to DJ mixes that manage to fit in everything from R&B, funk, soul, rock, electronic, house, moombahton, jazz, different international grooves. Love rare grooves. A lot of other randomness. When it comes to music I consider myself a fan and lover first. Then I’m everything else I do with music.

Q. MRCPROMO: How is the hip hop scene in Boston?
A. BUSY: Very talented but divided.

Q. MRCPROMO: What can you tell us about your latest project you put out?
A. BUSY: My next project is an album,”BusySeason” is going to be out this fall.

Q. MRCPROMO: How can your fans purchase your music?
A. BUSY: “BusySeason” will be on Itunes and a few other music purchasing sites in the fall.

Q. MRCPROMO: If you could work with any artist or producer who would it be ?
A. BUSY: I cant name just one. Premier, Madlib,or The Roots for starters.

Q. MRCPROMO: Any upcoming projects we should know about?
A. BUSY: “BusySeason” the album out this fall is where all my efforts are right now. The music is coming out great. Quality. Thats what I pride my music on.

Q. MRCPROMO: Any shows or tours?
A. BUSY: Shows in MA this summer, no tours now.

Q. MRCPROMO: Any last words?
A. BUSY: Pay attention to the world around you in best detail possible to you. Then take home what you see and think about it more. Be aware. Don’t be defined by your surroundings.
