In this interview Just-Ice talks about how he was inspired to start rhyming after being exposed to some different sounds other than what he had heard in his hometown of Brooklyn, citing Melle Mel as his largest inspiration.

I’ll leave out the spoiler, but one of the best parts of the interview comes when Just-Ice is asked about his feelings about being an icon of fashion. Just-Ice is clear about who he is and what he represents.

Among the icons of hip-hop, Just-Ice is a pioneer and tough dude. He spent some times as a bouncer for punk rock clubs before recording his own debut album, “Back to the Old School” which featured beatboxing (by the original DMX) and some fast and forceful rhymes.

Throughout the interview, Just-Ice shows support for new artists and new styles. His most recent release is the “Just-Ice Chronicles” from 2017, and can be found here .
