Over the years Nashville’s Mike Floss has dropped an array of killa tracks such as “Dope Boy Dreaming”, “Movie” and one of my favorites “Bonita” from his 2015 “Don’t Blame The Youth release. Now he’s back with the 11 track album “Tennessee Daydreams” which dropped September 15th. Floss again proves his ability to consistently create a wide array of quality music for the masses. Big shout to Mike’s manangement for blessing us with the link peep the Q&A share the post and please support the artist!
Q. MRCPROMO: Peace Mike Floss thanks for the interview at what age did you first know you could ryhme?
A. MIKEFLOSS: Probably like 13, when I started freestyling at school.
Q. MRCPROMO: We know your pops was a famous jazz player and you also played the trumpet how did it effect your taste for music and hip-hop. Do you think it makes you a better artist reading music and knowing how to play an instrument?
A. MIKEFLOSS: I think growing up in a musical house just expanding my range later down the line. Rapping doesn’t really require reading music or playing an instrument, but having an understanding of this has helped when it comes to producing. Overall I definitely think it helps you be more creative and hear music differently when you’ve played instruments and have some music education.
MIKE FLOSS – “TAKE YOURS”
Q. MRCPROMO: Traveling around the country what is the perception you get from people about Nashville hip-hop?
A. MIKEFLOSS: Most people have no clue that it exists. We’re still growing and pushing to become a respected scene, so everything I do spreads that awareness.
Q. MRCPROMO: Who makes your beats?
A. MIKEFLOSS: I make some of them, I’ve got a lot of talented friends that produced on Tennessee Daydreams too. Syksense, Ducko McFli, Mike Ewing, OGTha3, Shmuck The Loyal, Max Rubel. I work with other producers too. I’m always looking for good beats.
Q. MRCPROMO: Most of our vidoes are dope do you have a production team? Who helps you with the imagery?
A. MIKEFLOSS: ORGNZD does most of my photos and videos. But I’ve worked with different directors. As an independent artist I meet a lot of creatives on the come up and we build together. I typically have a vision for what I want to see on screen, but I can say that videos don’t really come naturally to me like music does. You really have to calculate a lot of technical things when it comes to videos in order to get the best possible result. Glad you like them though, still working to make them even better.
MIKE FLOSS – “DOPEBOY DREAMING”
