UrbanArtistry proudly presents its first-ever feature film screening, bringing together cinema, style-writing culture, music and community for a one-day celebration centered around WHOLETRAIN 4K Remaster 20th Anniversary screening..
Taking place on Bank Holiday Sunday, 24 May, the event promises a full day of culture and creativity, beginning at 12:30PM and continuing through to 6PM.
The day opens with a special takeover of the Upstairs Bar by WORKINONIT, featuring a live beat cypher from 12:30PM–3:30PM. Some of the UK’s leading beat makers will come together for an afternoon dedicated to live production, collaboration, and experimentation.
Main Feature Presentation: The WHOLETRAIN 4K Remaster
At 3:30PM, guests will move into Screen 1 for the main feature presentation: the acclaimed 2006 graffiti-culture film WHOLETRAIN, newly restored in 4K for its 20th anniversary.
Written and directed by Florian Gaag in his multi-award-winning cinema debut, WHOLETRAIN follows four writers, David, Tino, Elyas, and Achim, as they navigate the underground world of style-writing culture, with its own hierarchies, values, rules, and codes.
The film delivers a gripping and emotional portrait of youth, identity, rebellion, and artistic expression operating in the shadows of the city.
Legendary Hip Hop Soundtrack
The film also features a celebrated soundtrack produced by director Florian Gaag, working alongside legendary hip-hop artists including KRS-ONE, Freddie Foxxx, O.C., Planet Asia, Afu-Ra, Grand Agent, Tame One, Akrobatik, and El Da Sensei.
The soundtrack is set to be re-released later this year as a limited-edition vinyl release.
Graffiti featured throughout the film was created in collaboration with renowned writers WON ABC, NEON, CEMNOZ, PURE TFP, CIEL, and MONS.
