We caught up with C-Lance he explains why his work ethic wins, he’s plans for new music and gives some insight on fans supporting the producers in this digital streaming day and age.
Peace C-Lance, where are you based?
Boston, Massachusetts!
How long have you been working in the industry and what are some of your most notable productions and with whom ?
I’ve been producing for about 12 years. Most notable productions are “Way Down” by Merkules, “You Can’t Be Neutral On A Moving Train” by Vinnie Paz.
Which tools (hardware), software or music app do you use to work more efficiently?
I currently use FL studio 11 with Kontakt for sounds.
New music projects we should know about?
Yes…new album with Rittz, new Merkules album and new Vinnie Paz album..
Tours, shows or events coming up?
I personally don’t tour, but my man Merk is in Australia all of this month.
Favorite classic mixtape dj??
DJ Green Lantern, those Shady/G-Unit mix-tapes from the early 2000’s were the best!
What is the best thing you’ve managed to do all on your own for your career?
I’d say the amount of songs I’ve been apart of. My work ethic is what has gotten me where I am. I make so many beats so my chances of landing on every ones albums is greater than if I only made a few beats a week. So I’d say the amount of connections/songs I’ve been apart of.
Funniest thing that ever happened at an event or in the lab during production?
At a ‘Snak The Ripper’ show I once witnessed Big Term, his security guard body slam a bunch of 14 year old girls who were trying to get on stage.
Favorite tune of all time?
Jedi Mind Tricks – “When All Light Dies” ..
Last words or shout outs?
Just shout out to everyone who supports the producer. In this day and age where streaming platforms have taken over, the producer credit doesn’t exist anymore. So If you go out of your way to find out who makes the beats, I appreciate you.
